Introduction to the Personal Auto Policy

How to determine if a client, and their automobiles, are eligible for a ISO Personal Auto Policy (PAP) by exploring ownerships, types of eligible vehicles, and eligible vehicle usage.

Personal Auto Policy Definitions and Liability Coverage

Examine the Personal Auto Policy to identify "who is an insured," what is a "covered auto," and how coverage applies to a "Newly Acquired Auto."

Medical Payments and/or Personal Injury Protection

Though exploration of Part B - Medical Payments Coverage or Personal Injury Protection (in required States) you will utilize the Insuring Agreement and the definition of "insured" to understand who is entitled to receive coverage and what these coverage parts provide.

Uninsured and/or Underinsured Motorists Coverage

Who is an "insured" and what is an "Uninsured Motor Vehicle," how states differ in their definitions of "Underinsured Motor Vehicle" (a coverage trigger), and how much a client will receive (the coverage offset).

Learn about the exposures created by renting a vehicle and the coverage provided by the ISO Personal Auto Policy so that you may confidently explain coverage gaps as well as other coverage options.

BIO:

Deb Cerny is a Senior Risk Advisor with North Risk Partners, C.O. Brown division in their Mankato branch. She has held this position since 1999.  Her book of business includes a broad mix of commercial, personal and benefits accounts.  In addition to her sales position, she also served as NRP's southern division personal lines lead.  In this capacity, she assisted management in personal lines market alignment and strategy as well as the education and training of the personal lines sales and service staff.

Deb is an insurance industry "lifer", and her career has spanned four decades.  She has been involved with MIIAB on the state level, serving as chairman of the Young Agents Committee and the Insurance Youth Golf Classic.  Deb earned her CISR designation 1989 and her CIC designation in 1996.  Also, in 1996, the National Alliance (now known as the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance) named Deb Minnesota's Outstanding Customer Service Representative, and she was among four finalists for the national award.  Deb is currently working toward earning the Certified Personal Risk Manager designation.
