Insuring Personal Residential Property

This section will provide an understanding of Dwelling Policy and Homeowners Policy eligibility as well as examine the various coverage forms offered so that you may confidently guide your client through selecting the right Personal Residential Program for their property.

The Homeowners Policy Structure and Definitions

Examine the Homeowners Policy (focusing on the ISO Homeowners - 3 Special Form) to form an understanding of the definitions when creating coverage.

Homeowners Policy Section I - Property Coverages

Understand the application of Section I - Property coverages, including basic coverage limits, Perils Insured Against, Exclusions, Conditions, and how to apply the Loss Settlement Condition to a covered loss.

Homeowners Policy Section II - Liability Coverages

Learn to confidently explain and apply Homeowners Liability Coverages (Personal Liability and Medical Payments To Others), exclusions, additional coverages, and conditions

Elizabeth Rise

BIO:

Elizabeth Rise began her insurance career in 1975 as an agent for the Burd and Rise Insurance Agency of Halstad, MN. Elizabeth and her husband, Harlan, owned and managed the agency until their retirement at the end of 2008. She is a member of the National Faculty of The National Alliance, instructing at numerous CIC institutes, CISR courses, and Dynamics of Service courses around the country. Elizabeth has served as president of the Board of Governors of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Mayville State University, Mayville, ND. Liz received her CIC designation in 1977. Elizabeth and Harlan reside in Melbourne Beach, FL, and Miltona, MN. The couple has two daughters and Elizabeth is active in her church and community organizations.
